How amazing has the weather been? We have been spoilt in Ireland this past week. I now cannot imagine getting up in the morning without seeing the sunshine. We could get used to it, after the cold snow spell back in March. But aside from the amazing warmth, I have been receiving a lot of questions about how to dress during warm weather. You want to stay cool but look chic. And I hate being on public transport with no air circulation in completely the wrong clothes melting to the floor. So what can we do? I talked a lot about layering in the winter and the same applies to summer. But this time is wearing lighter textures.
I popped into Penneys last week to what pieces I could pick to give an example. Separates are your friend. Look for light blouses in summery block colours that you can style with prints. I picked up this fabulous floral mini skirt that has plenty of features and details to pick out. And if you are a fan of black then this one is for you; the print just lifts it. Alternate tops with these to change up the look each time you wear it.
When it comes to footwear, summer can be tricky. Your feet need to breathe but you don’t want to shred them to bits in flip flops. If you are on your feet a lot then you still need support. So try some ankle boots! Yes I said boot! I picked up this pair a month or so ago and the wood heel makes them more appropriate to style in with summer wear. So you see you can get wear out of boots even in warmer months.
Summer is when you can have lots of fun with accessories. This designer inspired bag is my current favourite. And straw bags are having a moment right now by the way!
All the above is currently available in Penneys!
