It’s BLOGMAS day two! Thanks to everyone who viewed yesterday’s post! It went really well and you all seemed to like my make up suggestions for party season. I’m such a beauty junkie and I will be doing a round up of the best beauty gift sets this month as well. It’s the weekend which usually means I take it easy with lots of trips to the gym, but I decided yesterday to head into town and start my Christmas shopping. That didn’t really go so well. I popped into Brown Thomas to check out the Marvel Room which is full of amazing gift ideas (even Celine, if you love someone very very much). And found myself up on the 2nd floor trying on clothes. I can’t help myself. There are a few pre-Christmas bargains to be had on some labels, including Acne, so I could not resist trying on a pair of jeans reduced to €95. I was sure they would fit, but sadly no. Then I had an idea, everyone has been raving about the Commando and Spanx leather leggings. So I wandered up the lingerie department to take a look. They both have their advantages. The Spanx ones are a great fit and have plenty of stretch, but they are not leather in feel or looks. They are just material with a shine on it to make it look like leather. Commando however, are leather. At €99 they are an investment but once I tried them on, I loved them. I am a size 12 on the bottom and I was sure that was a large, but the sales assistant assured me to go with a medium which I did. They are high rise and have plenty of “suck in” action going on. My plan is to wear these with long oversize knit jumper with boots.
So as you can see, my Christmas shopping got off to a strong start. I bought myself presents. So, I better start the shopping all over again this week. But! Wandering around BT gave me some ideas for some luxury presents starting at €50 and going all the way up! I have been researching some labels to give you ideas and hopefully these cover a lot of ground.
Buying clothes for someone is super tricky, but a coat is a good start. Moose Knuckles is a Canadian brand of luxury coats designed for extreme weather, but they are super warm and well designed. Let’s say it will take the classic puffer jacket to whole new levels (Prices start at about €1,000). Accessories always make for a lovely gift, and this season I discovered a brand called State of Escape based in Australia who have designed the perfect tote bag. It’s size will fit your whole day in it, and it’s made of neoprene, making it a very durable, hard wearing bag. They have a long list of celeb fans including Olivia Palermo, Eva Chen and Nicole Kidman. I love the grey as it’s such a versatile colour. If you want to give someone a make up gift, Christian Louboutin’s Metallic Eye colours (€50) are very fabulous. The pigment is brilliant and even though it goes on as a liquid it dries so quickly which makes it last longer on your eyes. There is a gold version available in time for Christmas; I love this pewter shade which is a good product for a festive smokey eye.
SHOP THE POST
A watch says I love you in the most romantic way. Watches are so personal so make sure to research the style your loved one likes before committing. Rotary have been making watches for so long, and have a huge range for Christmas. This piece is so elegant with a midnight blue face for extra drama. For the hair lover, GHD have a whole new range this year called Glacial Blue. I have the hair dryer which has all the power of a GHD, with an icy trim in turquoise. The collection also includes the platinum hair styler which has been a huge hit in the blogging world. Back to bags, and the bum bag made a return this year with nearly every luxury fashion house producing one. I love this Miu Miu piece which is available at Net A Porter; the velvet dresses up the casual style of the bag. Saving the best until last, and maybe because I want them myself are the Balenciaga Knife Point boots in black patent. I have lusted after these all season and I will be adding them to my wish list (more on that tomorrow).
