It’s approaching that time of year when we get those little pretty pieces of paper in the letterbox. Yes, it’s wedding season! When planning an outfit, I have some basic guidelines to bear in mind, which I hope will help you choose something that suits. Firstly, try and pick a look you can wear again and by this I mean styling with a leather jacket and ankle boots (if you opt for a dress) for example. It just gives the outfit a new life when the wedding is over. The same goes for shoes. There is nothing like the feeling of remorse at seeing a pair of shoes that only got one go on a dance floor. Shoes need some nights out. Next, I love outfits with sleeves which mean you are not tied to wearing them in the summer only. A sleeve kind of goes beyond one season. In terms of colour, that’s totally up to you. I like a print to be honest, or a bright colour, to avoid any clash with the wedding party, and I think they look more fun. Plus, if you have a day at the races planned, that will work for those occasions too. The days of hats seem to have disappeared a bit, and have been replaced with things like hair bands and hair slides so below I’ve added in some ideas to consider for those. If you are having your hair done I suggest taking these with you to the hairdresser for them to add in. I’ve written some blog posts like this in the past too so you might read some repetition here but you can check out those as well as wedding outfit trends seem to carry over year on year.
Below is an edit of some looks I love right now so happy shopping!
