Summer sandals are an essential from June to September whether you are in this changeable weather or basking in the sunshine somewhere fabulous. There are so many to choose from so I decided to do an edit of some styles I think are worth buying to wear with lots of outfit combinations as well as by the pool. The Birkenstock style is a big trend this season, I’ve actually had mine for about five years and they are still going strong. A little more pricey than the high street versions, they are built to last and defy all trends. They work with midi length skirts and slouchy t-shirts for a relaxed look. I highly recommend. The Espadrille also returns for summer sandals trends this year and the nice thing about these is how varied the heel height can be. I also love the ankle tie that comes on some pairs. They look so chic with summer tea dresses and even cropped jeans. And look Kate Middleton loves them so we do too. If you want something flat, online has thousands of options. I usually buy two – a black pair and a neutral or tan to match everything in my summer wardrobe. They can take some breaking in, but I try and wear them around the house with socks (attractive I know) to get them to soften.
