It’s such an amazing for shoes. Taking our cues from the likes of Bottega Veneta’s padded and BV Lido sandals, Isabel Marant’s Aridee kitten heel or Gianvitto Rossi’s Anna Slingbacks, there is a style to suit every occasion you may have. There are a couple of things to think about when choosing shoes. The style that are the best match for your outfit, may not be the best match for your feet. Have a good walk around the shop before making your purchase to make sure you are comfortable and will retain the feeling in your toes. No one wants to advance any kind of foot issues before time. We sometimes forget about width, we focus so much on our toes. I have found that most of my feet problems have come from wearing shoes that are actually too wide. On the note of sizing, heels hanging out the back of a shoe is not a cute look. Even if you have baby soft skin on yours, it’s not ok. Shoes need to fit, ok? 👌
If you try anything this season, take a look at colour. We are spoiled with an array of shades in footwear this season, and one such shade is teal. Again that’s another Daniel Lee at Bottega Veneta super-trend. Topshop and ASOS have some great dupes.
Without further ado, are are some of my favourites. You can click on the image to take you through to the retailer website. If you decide to make a purchase via that link, I will earn a small commission from that. Gotta pay for writing these words somehow.
TOE POST
Ok so this is a fancy way of saying ‘shoes with a thing in the middle of your toes’ or you can also call them thong sandals but that’s not ok with me. Thongs are pants. This is a mega shoe trend and I have to advise, these need to be broken in very far in advance of wearing them. Especially, if it is your first outing in any kind of sandal after being wrapped up in socks and Docs all Winter.
SLIDERS
Another shoe that warrants practice is the slider, but these are a long term summer favourite of mine. I love these with cropped jeans, midi dresses/skirts and even a tailored black trouser. These can dress up any casual look and work almost like an accessory. Watch out for super brights like orange and blue, or if you want to try the trend, opt for a cream that will match everything this summer. Book your pedicure now.
SLINGBACK
Often mistaken for a cocktail, the slingback is summer go to. From a high heel cream style to a Chanel-style two tone flat, these can be a great work wear option as they tend to be in block colours that work with tailoring. If you find they slip, try adding a little boob tape to the strap at the back to keep them on until you get the hang of walking in them. Look, I said that these were my shoe picks, I didn’t say they were going to be easy? Fashion is work darling.
